RESERVE PARKING CAMERA

The reverse parking camerai is activated automatically when the car shifts into reverse. It allows the driver to visualise manoeuvres on the big touchscreen, making parking safer and easier.

PARKING AID AND BLIND SPOT CHECK SYSTEM

The front and rear parking aid uses audio and visual graphics to keep the driver aware of the distance between the car and any other objecti.
Thanks to four sensors located on the front and rear bumpers, the blind spot check systemi provides a timely warning if another vehicle enters the blind spot while the car is in motion, triggering an orange LED on the nearest wing mirror to alert the driver.

PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS

The Peugeot Connecti box looks after you in the event of an accident. It will call emergency services in the event that airbags or pyrotechnic belts are triggered. You can also make a manual emergency call using the SOS button located on the dashboard. The vehicle will then be located and the required emergency services will be immediately dispatched.

COLOR HEAD-UP DISPLAY

This feature lets you access essential driving information without taking your eyes off the road - for the ultimate in driving safety. The head-up displayi projects key data in color onto a retractable panel positioned within your field of vision, thereby keeping you permanently aware of your speed, and of instructions from the cruise control systemi and the navigation systemi.

ADDITIONAL DRIVING LIGHTS

When dipped-beam or main-beam headlampsi are in use and the vehicle is travelling at less than 40 km/h, the beam from the front foglamps lights up the inside of any oncoming curve. This extra illumination is particularly useful when driving in town, at junctions, on very winding roads and during parking manoeuvres.

ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE

The electric parking brakei combines two functions: it automatically engages whenever the engine stops (this includes stalling), and automatically releases when the car accelerates. The Hill Assist function, when used in conjunction with the electric parking brake, keeps the brake on briefly (2 seconds) when the vehicle is on a slope.

ESP

Thanks to the ESP trajectory control systemi, the Peugeot 508 combines superb road handling with a high level of active safety.

The system groups together a number of functions: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Anti-Skid Regulation (ASR), Electronic Brake-Force Variation (EBV and CBC), Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA), Motor Stall Regulation (MSR) and Intelligent Traction Control, a function enabling the driver to optimise the vehicle's progress in conditions that make road grip precarious.

In the event of a collision, there are 6 airbags to increase occupant safetyi: 2 front airbags, 2 front side airbags and 2 front and rear curtain airbags.
