The new Peugeot 308 has a new range of safety equipment including the "Driver Assistance Pack" which includes the active speed regulator, Collision Risk Alert and the Emergency Brake System. These functions are linked to the radar which is integrated into the lower front grille.
The active speed regulator automatically reduces the programmed speed when you are following a vehicle which is moving slower than you using the engine brake. When the speed differential between your own car and a vehicle in front is too high, Collision Risk Alert asks you to brake to reduce the distance. If a collision is certain, the Automatic Emergency Brake reduces the speed by a maximum of 20 km/h, so as to avoid the impact or limit the consequences. These functions do not exempt the driver from maintaining control of the vehicle in all circumstances, in compliance with the requirements of the highway code.
